Hilton Waikoloa Village to auction some of its collection for ER benefit

With renovations and updates to the meeting and convention function areas of Hilton Waikoloa Village to be completed by the end of September, the property will host a live art auction to make space for the new pieces coming in. Open to the public, the auction presents an opportunity to own a piece of the famed collection, and will contain more than 100 pieces of artwork and fine furniture from the conference center, such as a Buddha statue, a Wyland painting of a whale and its calf in a custom-made koa frame, a cinnabar red carved dragon and furniture pieces including tables, chairs and sofas. All items have no reserve, with the exception of the Wyland painting.

Ten percent of proceeds from the auction will go to the Kohala Hospital Charitable Foundation’s new emergency room project. A preview of auction items will be available for bidders from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27. The live auction will begin at 1 p.m. in the Kona Ballroom of Hilton Waikoloa Village. All items won at the auction must be picked up by July 29. Self-parking for the event is free and valet parking will cost $11.
